Weatherization Assistance Program
WAP is the nation’s core
program for delivering energy efficiency services to low-income households. Weatherization determines which energy efficiency measures
are appropriate, emphasizing the most cost-effective measures and those which
are essential for the health and safety of the occupants. The following are services that may be provided:

Check and install insulation

Seal cracks in ceilings, walls, and foundations

Seal duct work
-
Insulate water lines
-
Install roof & dryer vents
-
Weatherize doors and windows
-
Test furnace efficiency
-
Make minor repairs to ensure health and safety
Emergency Furnace Repair and
Furnace/Water Heater Replacement
Furnace
repairs and replacements and water heater replacements are allowed under one of
the following conditions:
Residential Energy Education Program
The program’s goal
is to reduce energy costs to low-income persons by improving the energy
efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The following
are services that may be provided:

The energy educator meets with you
-
Your current energy usage is reviewed

Utility bill is reviewed and analyzed
-
Discussion of energy conservation recommendations

Referral to other agencies if needed

Each client receives a free Conservation Kit that includes
products to help reduce utility costs

Each client receives a personalized booklet detailing
possible energy conservation life style changes to be considered
