Children's Consultation Network

--Serving Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN

Serving Fargo, ND and neighboring rural counties in North Dakota and Minnesota, this children's consultation network provides screening, early intervention and prevention services, along with community education and resources. While waiting to see their pediatrician, parents of children ages 6 months to 5 years will be offered a new hand-held, user-friendly electronic device to answer the well-proven Ages and Stages Questionnaire-SE. Elevated scores on this diagnostic tool indicate possible socio-emotional difficulties or developmental concerns. These children will be referred for further evaluation, consultation and care.

Mission

The mission of the Children’s Consultation Network (CCN) is to facilitate collaboration among providers and referral sources, deliver mental health community education and assess, monitor and evaluate current children’s mental health services in Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN.

Children’s Mental Health Initiative Expansion

The CCN has received matching grants from Dakota Medical Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Local Funding Partnerships.  The four-year grants will provide mental health screening, assessment, consultation, education and early intervention services to improve the lives of children ages 0-5 and their families.
The project provides a social-emotional screening component at Innovis Pediatrics and an opportunity for parents to consult with a mental health professional about their child’s social-emotional development.

Phone and e-mail early childhood mental health consultation will also be provided for the community through select referral agencies, with FirstLink serving as the initial pilot site.
