BE THE GUIDING LIGHT

Every hero’s story begins with a challenge. In Southeastern North Dakota, too many families face a daily struggle just to survive. They’ve done everything they can — worked long hours, cut expenses, gone without — but still come up short. The weight of choosing between food and rent, between heat and diapers, becomes unbearable.

That’s where you come in.

When a family reaches a breaking point, your support allows Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency (SENDCAA) to step in — not with one-size-fits-all solutions, but with a tailored plan for each unique household. Whether it’s early childhood education, emergency housing, self-sufficiency coaching, or home safety repairs, we walk alongside our neighbors as they chart a new course.

You’re not just giving help — you’re restoring hope.

Just ask Maude. She came to us homeless, living in a car with her children. With guidance and support made possible by donors like you, she journeyed from crisis to stability. Today, she owns her home and her own business. See more on her story below.

This is the power of your generosity.

Join us. Become part the guiding light behind another hero’s transformation. Together, we’re not just meeting needs — we’re rewriting futures.

Maude's Story

In 2023, Maude faced homelessness while raising two kids; but with unwavering determination, she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through SENDCAA's Career Coach program. but her journey didn't stop there. Maude transitioned to SENDCAA's Family Empowerment Program, secured stable housing and income, and created a safe home for her family just in time for the holidays.

In 2024, Maude re-enrolled in cosmetology school and also enrolled her children in Head Start for a strong start to their future. By 2025, she graduated as a licensed cosmetologist and became a first-time homeowner and opened a home-based childcare center. Maude's journey is proof that with resilience and support, dreams can come true!
